“Can you help us establish ourselves as thought leaders in our space?” Almost every new client that comes to us asks us this question. The short answer is always ‘Yes!’ with the caveat that it will take some work.

To be a thought leader you must be prepared to be an educator. As a tech marketing firm, we deal with extremely complex products/technology, and our goal is to help simplify the message.

There are many ways to do this, and every company is on a different path or at a different stage in the evolution of their business. For our clients, we’ll pull out our bag of tricks and integrate a variety of communications tactics to help them achieve their goal of thought leader. But there is one tactic that is at the top of my Favorite Marketing Things list. You guessed it: infographics. Infographics are an ideal tool for simplifying content visually. They are appealing to a range of audiences from ‘in the trenches’ design engineers or data architects to C-level execs, investors, partners, and all those in your ecosystem that matter.

Infographics can be a very powerful tool in the marketing mix. Many of us are visual learners. There is a study that shows that upwards of 65% of the general population are visual learners. If you’re dealing with extremely technical content, then one of the best ways to present it in an easy to absorb and enticing manner is through an infographic.

Benefits of Infographics:

  • Visually appealing – eye catching or attention grabbing
  • Educational
  • Help to increase engagement on social channels
  • Make a great media asset
  • Promote your brand
  • Demonstrate your authority on a topic
  • Fun and give your company some personality

Do you have what it takes for infographics? Yes, you do. It doesn’t matter what the topic is: technology, product, applications, markets, you name it. If you’re looking for ways to tell your story visually infographics are a sure-fire way to appeal to a broad audience and set your company up as a thought leader.
